FAQs
How long does it take to get my photos back?
Turnaround is usually 3–4 weeks.* Your images go through several culls and 2 rounds of edits. Film takes up to 2 weeks to be developed, scanned, and edited. I take care with editing to make sure every image is consistent and true to your story. You’ll receive a gallery link where you can view and download your photos once they’re ready.
*The Full Story package includes a custom album and 2 rolls of medium format film. Turnaround for this package can be 4-8 weeks.
Will you get photos of us smiling at the camera?
I don’t focus on stiff, everyone-smile-at-once photos. If you want one for a holiday card, we’ll grab a quick, relaxed version. The rest of the session is about capturing how your family actually is together, not lining everyone up and asking to say cheese.
Can I send you my Pinterest board for inspiration?
I don’t work from Pinterest boards. If you’re here because you’ve scrolled through my Instagram or Facebook, you’re interested in hiring me because you connect with my work and my perspective. I’m here to capture your family, not to copy another photographer’s images.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
That’s completely fine. I expect kids to be kids. I’m not here to pose them into stiff smiles but to capture them as they are. Some of the best photos happen when children are playing, moving, or showing their personalities.
What should we wear?
Stick to neutrals and textures that feel good on you. Think linen, denim, cotton, or knits. Avoid stiff collars, tucked-in shirts, or bulky sweaters that hide your shape. Simple and comfortable works best.
Do you use flash or studio lights?
No, I shoot with natural light only. If we’re at your home, that means opening up curtains and blinds so the light can flow in. This keeps your photos looking natural and timeless.
What if the weather is bad?
I’m happy to shoot in the rain if you are. If it’s unsafe or storming, we’ll reschedule. Otherwise, moody skies and drizzle can add something special to your photos.
How far in advance should we book?
As soon as you can. I only take on a limited number of sessions each month to keep my workload balanced and give every family - including mine - the attention they deserve.
